Not too bad, will looks much better once I get to fill inthe rough spots with Metal X and then sand and paint. Considering what it started out as I am happy so far.

What a fun job. Eh, Steve? LOL.
Believe me, it's not. It truly looks awesome though, Steve. It's extremely rewarding in the end.
Keep it up!

Yeah sure is fun wacko.gif

I think if I was to do it again knowing what I know now. I would have cut one piece of metal the sape of the areas I wanted filled and tacked it in then smoothed. I will be hours upon hours getting that smoothed right the way I want it.

What did you use Jeff for the filling and smoothing process?? Metal Fill??

I used a product called 'All-Metal'. Pain in the ass to use, though. I highly recommend using plain ol' bondo. Especially since you've filled in all of the holes with weld anyways. Great job. Gonna look really clean!

Well she is all ready to go with the All Metal now.

Finished up the last of the welding tonight.

Here is the finished Drivers Side. (Kind of cheated, but hey will all look the same once it is filled and smoothed)

Jeff you say if you did it again you would use bondo?? I was wondering about that would it not crack at flex points??

I was planning on the All Metal but if you say it is that hard to work with I don;t know now. I will be starting the smoothing on the weekend, so opinions are needed.

Thanks

Great job, Steve-O! I, personally would use bondo. I can't imagine the All-Metal being any different with the flex issue. YOu have frame connectors and strut tower brace? And yes, the bondo will be so much easier to work with. Great idea on the driver side with the plate. Wish I had done that!
YOu are going to be so damned happy when this is finished. I told myself I would never do it again. Although after all fo the compliments I have received on my engine bay, it seems well worth it. Would probably be my first mod. L!
You have any other questions, PM me and we'll exchange phone numbers. If you've taken your time on all of the wiring and such, you shouldn't have a problem at start up. I was extra extra extra slow and carefull to not lose track of which wire I was extending etc....
Good luck with it. Email me the progress pics as you go along. I love this sh!t !!!
