Always on the look out for the best products for the customer, Spenc has come through again with one of the best, Royal Purple. Just as time was running out for me to get my E-test done & my Curb Idle in serious question. I got an email from Spenc saying that he was bringing Royal Purple online & that I should try it. Well I phoned them up in Huston Texas & talked to their teck specialist who turned out to be a fellow Road Racer. After convincing me that Royal Purple would drop my emissions 20% & do everything it claims it would, I bought a case of 5W30 (usually run Pennzoil Syntec 5W50). After changing the oil & driving the car for only 20 minutes here are the results!!!

2002 NO ppm Test Limit 984 Result 139

CO% in 2004 was 0.00!!!
Not only does the car accelerate smoother & run quieter, Royal Purple has dropped the engine temp 5 degrees to a constant 180 degrees, not bad considering I’m running a 9 lb Supercharger without an intercooler!!!

Max-Gear 75W90 Synthetic Gear Oil
What can I say, but everything that Royal Purple claims is true. As you know I Road Race an 89 Mustang. Already using a 75W90 synthetic gear oil after 20 minutes on the track it would get so hot it would be coming out the relief valve and spewing all over the right side of the axle and the rear of the car So again I’m on the phone to Texas talking to the RP tech. Max-Gear will solve the problem he says. So I order some (it already contains the Limited Slip Additive). Now for me this is not an easy task to change the gear oil because the back of the torque arm is bolted to the differential through the diff. cover. So this means I had to suck it out!!! :o What a pain, but what a difference. I could tell right away that is was running smoother and quieter & when I took the car out I could feel a difference in acceleration But the real proof came at Mt. Tremblant & Mosport. No oil came out and I could put my hand on the diff. (but not hold it there) before I couldn’t even get near it. Hats off to Royal Purple You got to use it.
