Brickyard 400

Un-four-gettable! Jeff Gordon, who grew up in Indiana, has joined A.J. Foyt, Rick Mears and Al Unser Sr. as the only drivers with four wins at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. And it wasn't even close.
Gordon led 124 of 161 laps at Sunday's Brickyard 400, the most dominating performance turned in at the fabled track since NASCAR began running at Indy 11 years ago. It was the fourth time in the last seven races that the No. 24 car led the most laps.
But Gordon had to go an extra lap to get the win because of a crash involving Ryan Newman and Brian Vickers with five laps to go. That accident forced the first green-white-checkered finish since NASCAR changed its rule earlier this season.
The biggest challenge Gordon dealt with all day was surviving the race-record 13 cautions to claim his series-leading fifth win of the season.
